Dar es Salaam, 24th January 2026 – Azania Bank, in support of the efforts of the Government of The United Republic of Tanzania in promoting social and economic development initiatives for women, has reaffirmed its commitment to building a sustainable, inclusive and prosperous society by facilitating the construction of five (5) clean and safe water wells in Ubungo Municipality.
The Bank confirmed this during the official launch of a pilot clean and safe water project held in Mburahati Ward on 24th January 2026.
Speaking on behalf of the Bank at the event, the Head of Corporate and Government Business, Mr. Samson Mahimbi, stated that Azania Bank is ready to support five groups through the provision of concessional loans to enable the successful implementation of water projects. This initiative aims to ensure that five additional wards within Ubungo Municipality gain access to clean and safe water.
Also addressing the audience, the District Commissioner of Ubungo, Advocate Albert Msando expressed sincere appreciation to Azania Bank for responding to the needs of the surrounding community and for continuing to collaborate with various stakeholders in supporting social and infrastructure projects that promote sustainable development.
Through this initiative, Azania Bank demonstrates its commitment to creating lasting change, within the community ensuring that more communities in Ubungo have access to safe and clean water.
